Bitkom, German Association for information businesses, Telco and new media initiated a survey on teenage media devices. Forsa Institute interviewed more than 700 teenagers aged 10 to 18 years about their tec-devices.
Bottom line is, that cell phones are as common as a bycicle and that girls posses more high end multimedia devices than boys.
93% of all interrogated teenagers have their own mobile phone, 82% own a stereo system and only 80% a MP3 player, which surely is due to the fact that even dumbphones can substitute that kind of device nowadays.
75% own a computer, girls tend to own laptops, whereas boys prefer desktops (sounds like a gaming issue).
Surprisingly 64% of all girls own a digital camera compared to only 43% of the boys.
Unfortunately the study does not speak about which devices the kids want to own in the near future.
