German consulting and market research agency ifse published an interesting report on net-users.
A striking result was a significant low acceptance for a monthly fee / entertainment flat rate. According to ifs only 43% are willing to pay a monthly fee to pay content providers, artists, writers. Even though such a flat rate would legalize file sharing the acceptance dropped 7% since 2008.
A logic conclusion is content providers and rights holders should rather focus on providing services to access the content rather than discussing legal frameworks of flat rates.
